Spitballing a Trade For The Texas Rangers. (First Post)

This is my first post on SBN or really any sports website, so thank you for reading.

This is a proposed 3 team deal between the Texas Rangers, Toronto Bluejays and Arizona Diamondbacks I am spitballing, so this will NOT happen. The logic behind me adding the Dbacks to this was because the Blue Jays need big league ready talent specifically pitching and the Rangers aren't willing to sacrifice the farm for a single player. Don't get me wrong the Rangers have a great farm system but adding a team like the Diamondbacks that are in a win now mode helps strengthen the talent going to the Jays.

Texas sends OF Alex Rios to the Dbacks. Arizona is in a win now mentality in a tough NL West and now they can keep AJ Pollock in a platoon role and put Rios in CF or a COF spot and move Parra to center.

Toronto receives RHP Zeke Spruill and INF Chris Owings from the Dbacks. Spruill (24) is projected to be a solid no. 3 or 4 starter, he had a great season in AA did alright in AAA but got roughed up a bit in his first taste of the majors. Owings (22) raked in AAA and seems ready for the majors. The problem is he is blocked by DiDi Gregorius who showed some promise in his first full season and the Dbacks like him. Owings is capable of moving to second but that is blocked as well so this fixes their logjam up the middle. Owings moves to second in Toronto and Maicer Izturis moves from being a starter to a much deserved utility INF role.

Toronto receives INF Luis Sardinas and RHP Wilmer Font from the Texas Rangers. Sardinas (20) is a slick fielding SS and projects as a plus bat, had a nice season in Class A before getting called up to AA Frisco later in the year. Font (23) dominated AA and AAA in a relief role which best suits him but he can possibly be transformed into a starter. This strengthens Toronto's ailing farm system and gives them a nice reliever.

Texas receives Edwin Encarnacion from the Toronto Blue Jays. The Rangers have arguably the best lineup in the majors going into 2014 but this makes this lineup without a doubt head and shoulders above the rest. Encarnacion is a DH/1B/3B but will primarily be a DH for the Rangers. Encarnacion has great power and puts up a good average too, he had a slash line of .272/.370/.534 along with a WAR of 4 and an OPS of .904 which was good for 11th in the majors. I figure they can slide Michael Choice in RF or even move Mitch to right.

Texas also receives OF Brandon Jacobs and LHP Daniel Gibson from Arizona. Jacobs (23) struggled this season particularly with plate discipline. Gibson (22) projects as a Left-Handed specialist and dominated in Class A and A full.

Texas projected lineup with Encarnacion:

1. LF Shin Soo Choo

2. SS Elvis Andrus

3. 1B Prince Fielder

4. 3B Adrian Beltre

5. DH Edwin Encarnacion

6. RF Michael Choice/Mitch Moreland

7. C Geovany Soto

8. 2B Jurickson Profar

9. CF Leonys Martin

I hope you enjoyed reading this spitball and hopefully it wasn't too crazy. Write your thoughts on what you would've changed and who you think this deal favors.
