The Minnesota Twins have been tied to free agent infielder Freddy Sanchez this offseason, but they are currently not showing interest in the veteran, according to Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN.

Earlier in the offseason, Sanchez's agent said that nearly 20 teams asked for his client's medical records. Due to their tie to middle infielders, the Twins were connected to Sanchez. However, it doesn't appear that they are interested in adding the veteran.

Sanchez has been hampered by injuries over the past two seasons, and the 35-year-old didn't appear in any major league games last season. He does have a solid track record offensively, as he owns a career batting line of .297/.335/.413 over 10 seasons in the majors. In 261 plate appearances with the San Francisco Giants in 2011 he hit .289/.332/.397 with 15 doubles and three home runs.

Sanchez's primary position has been second base, but he's also manned third base and shortstop over his career. The Twins are set to enter the season with soon-to-be 39-year-old Jamey Carroll as their everyday second baseman, and it was assumed that they would want more of a veteran insurance behind him than Eduardo Escobar and Brian Dozier.
