The Rangers and Indians are possible landing spots for free agent infielder Ryan Theriot.

The Texas Rangers are interested in free agent Ryan Theriot, while the Cleveland Indians present another possible landing spot for the veteran infielder, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports:

Rosenthal notes that the Rangers and Indians both want to improve their infield depth. Theriot would provide either team an experienced play with the ability to man multiple positions.

Theriot spent the 2012 season with the San Francisco Giants. The 33-year-old hit .270/.316/.321 with 16 doubles, one triple and 13 stolen bases in 18 attempts over 352 at-bats.

After spending the first five seasons of his career with the Chicago Cubs, Theriot has played for four teams in the past three seasons. He started 81 games at second base for the Giants last season, but he has also played shortstop and third base as well as each corner outfield position during his career.

Over eight seasons at the major league level, Theriot has hit .281/.341/.350.

Beyond the Rangers and Indians, Theriot has also been tied to the Giants and Philadelphia Phillies this offseason.
