Over at Baseball America, Matt Eddy released his weekly column, which details the minor league moves of the week.

Perhaps the most notable name was Josh Booty, who won "The Next Knuckler," an MLB Network show that pitted former quarterbacks against each other trying to learn how to throw the knuckeball. Booty won, and received an invitation to Diamondbacks camp. He was cut today, and was sent down to the minor league camp.

It should be interesting to see if Booty continues to try and pitch as a knuckleballer, or if he decides to just walk away from the game all together. The Marlins also officially released Booty, which means they will not fight Arizona for his rights.

Eddy writes that few teams have also released and subsequently re-signed some players of note: The Phillies have re-signed Andres Blanco to a minor-league deal a few weeks after releasing him, while the Mets have released and re-signed veteran reliever LaTroy Hawkins to fix an issue with his contract, per Adam Rubin of ESPN.

Of the three players, Hawkins is the most likely to see some big-league playing time. The 40-year-old posted a 3.64 ERA in 42 innings of relief for the Angels last year.
