Vladimir Guerrero rumors: Twins, Yankees not interested

The Minnesota Twins and New York Yankees are reportedly not interested in Vlad Guerrero.

Yesterday we reported that Vladimir Guerrero will attempt a comeback. Guerrero's representatives have shared a promotional video featuring Guerrero and reached out to multiple teams to gauge interest in their client. However, the Minnesota Twins and New York Yankees are reportedly not interested in the veteran.

Twins general manager Terry Ryan was approached by Guerrero's camp, according to Darren Wolfson. But the GM indicated that Minnesota would not be interested in the veteran's services.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports was the first to announce Guerrero's desire to continue his playing career. When he did, he noted that the New York Yankees were not interested in the slugger.

Guerrero hasn't appeared in the majors since 2011 when he was a member of the Baltimore Orioles. That season he hit .290/.317/.416 with 30 doubles and 13 home runs over 590 plate appearances. He owns a career batting line of .318/.379/.553, but he hit .295/.332/.458 from 2009-11.

Guerrero has said he's willing to sign a minor league contract this spring to attempt to catch on with a team. This should help his cause, but it remains to be determined if any club will be interested in a 38-year-old that is over a year removed from the majors.
