The Baltimore Orioles continue to scout Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitchers Aaron Harang, Ted Lilly and Chris Capuano.

The Baltimore Orioles continue to scout Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitchers Aaron Harang, Ted Lilly and Chris Capuano, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports.

Kubatko notes that any of the Dodgers' trio would fit with the Orioles as a veteran starting pitcher. Baltimore had been tied to arms, including Joe Saunders and Rick Porcello, before reaching a minor league agreement with right-hander Jair Jurrjens this winter.

The Orioles currently project a starting rotation consisting of Jason Hammel, Wei-Yin Chen, Chris Tillman and Miguel Gonzalez. Jurrjens and several others, including Steve Johnson, Zach Britton, Jake Arrieta, Brian Matusz and Tommy Hunter, are competing for the final rotation spot.

Rather than enter the regular season with one of their in-house candidates claiming the final slot, the O's could make a trade for a more proven commodity.

Harang maintained an ERA of 3.61 over 31 starts last season, his first with the Dodgers. The 34-year-old owns a career ERA of 4.19 with a 2.65 strikeout-to-walk ratio (SO/BB) over 11 seasons in the majors.

Capuano also made 30-plus starts for Los Angeles last season, posting an ERA of 3.72 over 198 1/3 innings. The 34-year-old left-hander boasts a career ERA of 4.28 with 2.63 SO/BB in eight major league seasons.

Lilly was limited to eight starts for the Dodgers last season due to injury. When he was healthy he pitched well, maintaining an ERA of 3.14 over 48 2/3 innings. The 37-year-old has posted a career ERA of 4.13 with 2.55 SO/BB in fourteen seasons in the majors.
