Minor moves: Kameron Loe, Corky Miller, Fernando Martinez

USA TODAY Sports

One player has found his way into a new minor-league deal, while the two others have cleared waivers and accepted outright assignments.

Braves get Loe

The Atlanta Braves signed righty reliever Kameron Loe to a minor-league deal over the weekend, reports Chris Cotillo of CLNS Radio. Loe, 31, was released by the Cubs on Friday after an unsuccessful three-week stint in Chicago's bullpen.

The veteran right-hander actually began the year with the Seattle Mariners, but was claimed off of waivers by the Cubbies during the second week of the regular season when their relief corps was hit by a series of injuries and all-around ineffectiveness.

Loe has tossed just 15 innings between Chicago and Seattle this year, but has somehow managed to surrender a whopping nine home runs in that brief span. The right-hander gave nine home runs all last year in almost seven times as many appearances.

Reds outright Miller

The Cincinnati Reds have officially outrighted catcher Corky Miller to Triple-A, the team has announced. The reserve backstop was designated for assignment on Friday to make way for Ryan Hanigan's return to the roster and made his way through the waiver-wire process unscathed.

Miller, 37, appeared in just six games for the Reds over the last two weeks, notching two hits and four walks in 20 plate appearances. His brief time with Cincy was his first big-league playing time since 2010.

Astros outright Martinez

Houston Astros outfielder Fernando Martinez has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Triple-A, reports Brian McTaggert of MLB.com. The 24-year-old was cut from the roster along with fellow outfielder Rick Ankiel last week when the club decided to reconfigure its outfield.

A former top prospect for the Mets, Martinez has appeared in 52 games for the Astros over the last two years, where he's hit .225/.285/.424 in 165 plate appearances.
