The Big Fish in this years trade market may have finally been caught.
The Texas Rangers long search for that last piece to bolster their club for a playoff run may finally be coming to a close. They are really close to finalizing a deal with the Chicago Cubs for starter Matt Garza. This may be one of those trades that help both teams out.
The Texas Rangers are receiving a pitcher who has been on top of his game for the past couple weeks. He owns a 6-1 record and has a very good ERA of 3.17. Though he has only pitched in 11 games he seems to be getting stronger as the season has progressed.
With Garza pitching so well and being the top starting pitcher in this years trade market the Cubs are lining themselves up to receive a pretty nice solid return for Garza. This may be one of those trades that a few years from now we look back as one that could change the franchises fortune.
As of 11.20 AM Pacific time the Rangers-Cubs trade is 99% complete with the teams exchanging medical reports on the 6 players rumored to be involved in this trade. A trade will probably be Garza and a position player heading to Texas and 4 prospects heading to Chicago. A couple names that may be the second player in the Garza deal could be either Dejesus or Schierholtz.
