Heading into the season, many expected 2013 to be the last hurrah for Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko. It not longer appears so, according to a report from Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

The 37-year old is in the midst of one of his worst offensive seasons since he has become a full-time major leaguer. The 16-year veteran is hitting .243 with 10 home runs, 46 RBI and a .316 OBP. In his career, Konerko has won a world series, been named to six All-Star teams and has earned more than a $127M. Konerko will likely try to make a return with the White Sox after his current contract expires this season.

Adam Dunn told Jim Bowden of SiriusXM and ESPN that he doesn't believe there is any chance Konerko retires after this season.

"When the time comes when I hash it all out, we'll find out. But it's not now," Konerko told Chicago media. "If you're worrying about the rest of this season, then you'll worry about that later on.
