Nori Aoki-A Child on Christmas

A few months after the San Francisco Giants had defeated the Kansas City Royals 3-2 in Game 7 of the 2014 World Series, Royals’ RF Norichika Aoki decided to sign a 1-year, $4 million contract with the Giants, closing the doors on free-agent James Shields.

During the press conference that was held, Norichika Aoki wasn’t quite able to contain his excitement to finally be able to play for the San Francisco Giants. "I’m excited to be a San Francisco Giant. I’ve always liked the city of San Francisco, but not only that, have always had an admiration for the Giants and the history they have. Having played against them the past three years, I can see they really play together as a team, and this is a team that has a chance to play for a championship every year, so that’s why I chose to sign with this club."

Norichika Aoki had also announced to the media, during the press conference, that he would like to wrestle Giants’ pitcher, Madison Bumgarner. Surely, this wrestling match would be a wonderful sight to see and experience first-hand. It would be a match between David and Goliath. As to whether Nori Aoki would succeed in taking down Bumgarner, isn’t the main question. The main question is, will someone be recording this match and posting it on sfgiants.com?

With the addition of both Casey McGehee and Norichika Aoki, many fans raised questions regarding the number of homeruns the Giants will hit this upcoming season, whether Angel Pagan and Marco Scutaro will be healthy by Opening Day, and of course, will there be any more photos of Aoki planking above home plate?

With only 34 days until the team has their first Spring Training practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, it can be true to that say that the 2015 MLB season will be one filled with excitement and anticipation.
