BREAKING NEWS: DBacks, Johnson Reach Deal

The Diamondbacks and Randy Johnson have agreed to a two year deal, worth 10 million dollars. The extension preludes a trade that could happen as earlier as this afternoon, but probably won't be finalized til next week. According to WFAN in New York, Johnson, who went 17-11 with a 5.00 ERA, will be traded to the Diamondbacks with cash for Ross Ohlendorf, Luis Vizcaino, Steven Jackson, and Alberto Gonzalez. This leaves the Yankees with another hole in their rotation and according to Clemens' agent, Roger Clemens is looking to have another "partial season." This could lead the Yankees to entering the season with a extremely weak rotation, or force them to overpay to get Clemens' services early in the season.

Mark Loretta and the Astros have agreed to a one-year deal, worth $2.5 million. Loretta batted .285 with 5 HR and 59 RBI. Loretta will be used as a utility infielder.
