Voyles hasn't pitched in the majors since 2003, but scouts were impressed by his command in the Winter Leagues. He was 1-2 with a 2.78 ERA. Ponson went 4-5 with a 6.25 ERA with the Cardinals and Yankees. The Red Sox are closing in on a deal with Joel Pineiro for one year, worth 4 million dollars. Pineiro was 8-13 with a 6.36 ERA with the Mariners last year. The Orioles have finalized a three year deal, worth 20 million dollars with Aubrey Huff, who batted .266 with 21 HR and 65 RBI. Dave Newhan, who told the Baltimore Sun he was deciding between the Mets and Cubs, has chosen the Mets and is nearing a minor league deal with them. The Cubs signed Neal Cotts to a one year deal, worth 825 K.
