The Mets acquired Johnny Estrada in exchange for Guillermo Mota, which would suggest that the Brewers are close to signing Jason Kendall. The Mets definitely win in this trade. "Johnny adds depth to our catching situation," said Mets General Manager Omar Minaya. "He's a former All-Star who switch-hits and has hit over .300 three times in his career." Estrada and Castro will combine for solid duo behind the plate, especially if Estrada can continue to put up good numbers. I suspect now that Paul Lo Duca will head to the Marlins while the Blue Jays, Giants, and Rockies will look into signing Michael Barrett or Yorvit Torrealba.
If you check
my article from yesterday, it says that the Mets are probably the front runner if Estrada is available. Well obviously people with Mets agreed and this trade should go a long way for the Mets.
