The Reds are reportedly showing interest in free agent catcher Mike Piazza. Piazza would give them the catcher they need with solid power from the right side. Although some within the Reds organization were surprised by the report, Dusty Baker reportedly told friends that, "I'm confident Piazza will sign with the Reds. Tommy Lasorda wants him to play for me." Piazza can still hit, but he is a question mark behind the plate. He would probably need a stint in Triple-A if he does sign, but he could be a major threat coming off the bench in the MLB.
