Indians interview former manager Manny Acta

The Associated Press is reporting that the Indians interviewed former Nationals manager Manny Acta for their managerial opening

Acta said in an e-mail to The Associated Press that he was excited about the opportunity and the Indians told him they would get back to him next week.

Acta, who was fired by the Nationals in July, is also scheduled to interview for the Astros job tomorrow. Acta spent 16 years in the Astros organization, and is very familiar with some of their philosphies and protocols.

If the past week is any indicator, Acta is certainly in line for another managerial job in the future. If not this offseason, several teams will have openings next season, including the Dodgers and Braves, among others.
