ESPN.com is reporting that former Nationals manager Manny Acta and ESPN analyst Bobby Valentine are finalists for the Indians' vacant managerial position. Both are scheduled to have follow up interviews this week in Cleveland.
The Indians like Acta's experience dealing with younger players and has gone through a rebuilding process before, two attributes that would benefit the Indians next season. Cleveland has several young promising players they hope can emerge in 2010, possibly making a run in the weak AL Central.
Valentine has experience beyond his years, but is he ready to jump back into the MLB and be a manager in 2010? It is possible we could know the Indians new manager by the end of the week or this weekend.
