Sources told Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com's that several Blue Jay players don't want manager Cito Gaston back next season. It is not just because the Blue Jays are 75-84, but because of comments Gaston has made throughout the entire season.
"It's nearly a mutiny right now," one source says. "He has lost the entire team."
The Jays are pretty hot right now, winning nine of their last ten, including a sweep at Fenway Park. But Gaston's old-school approach seems to have had a backlash in the clubhouse, amongst the players and coaches.
Many expect the Jays to replace GM J.P. Ricciardi after the season, so it may be up to the next general manager to decide the fate of Gaston.
