Mets contact Kevin Towers, J.P. Ricciardi

Mets general manager Omar Minaya contacted recently canned GMs Kevin Towers and J.P. Ricciardi to express his support and reach out to both about possible positions within the organization. Towers and Ricciardi built their careers around being good evaluators, and won't have trouble finding jobs in the near future.

Minaya is reportedly on thin ice with the Mets, so hiring two experienced executives could be the beginning of the end for him. It is an interesting move, one other teams should consider as well.

With the Cubs in a transition of owners, they should look into hiring Kevin Towers as a potential president. The Rangers are also a possibility for Towers, who has ties to possible owner Dennis Gilbert, who Major League Baseball would love to see make an offer to buy the Rangers.
