J.J. Putz would consider set-up role

Free agent reliever J.J. Putz's agent told reporters that the former closer is healthy and throwing well, and would be willing to listen to offers to be a set-up man

"He has a preference to be a closer, but absolutely will not rule out an eighth-inning job depending upon many factors," Landis said.

Putz missed the majority of the season dealing with an elbow injury, but is just looking for another job and several teams already have interest in him.

The Tigers, Cubs, Phillies, and Braves have varying degrees of interest in the right-hander.
