Mariners moving Jose Lopez to first base?

New, comment's is reporting that the Mariners could consider moving Jose Lopez to first baseman and pursue one of the available second baseman. After making 15 errors at second base, moving him to the less demanding first base is intriguing.

A very interesting move considering their first baseman in 2009, Russell Branyan, clubbed 31 home runs and seems interested in returning. However, with two available Gold Glove winners in Placido Polanco and Orlando Hudson, they could solidfy their infield while adding a bat that can hit for average.

A lot will depend on how the market plays out this offseason.
