Rangers name Clint Hurdle hitting coach

ESPNDallas.com's Richard Durrett is reporting that the Rangers will name former Rockies manager Clint Hurdle as their new hitting coach.

The spot opened up when Rudy Jaramillo decided not to return. He ended up signing a multiyear deal with the Chicago Cubs.

Hurdle is great clubhouse coach known for his positive outlook and close relationships with his players. Hurdle said talks with the Rangers very very encouraging.

"I think they had four guys that came in that they were comfortable with and felt good about spending time with," Hurdle said. "The conversation at the table was very engaging. It's a great group of good, solid baseball men."

This will be Hurdle's second major league coaching the gig, the first coming with the Rockies.
