The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that the Phillies have informed pitcher Brett Myers that they will not attempt to re-sign him this offseason.
`I officially won’t be a Phillie next year,’’ the 29-year-old pitcher told The Inquirer this afternoon.
Myers, who has been pretty open about wanting to stay in Philadelphia, will search for a new home.
The Astros could be an option for the right-handed pitcher, who owns a 4.40 ERA in 8 professional seasons.
