Winter Meetings Wrap Up

  • The Pirates have signed shortstop Bobby Crosby to a one year deal worth 1 million dollars, plus incentives. Crosby is expected to compete with Ronny Cedeno for the starting job during Spring Training.
  • Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Mariners are exploring a trade for Padres first baseman Adrian Gonzalez
  • The Rays and Braves worked out a deal that send reliever Rafael Soriano to the Rays for Jesse Chavez, who was acquired from the Pirates earlier this offseason.
  • The Yankees have not ruled out signing both Hideki Matsui and Johnny Damon, despite acquiring Curtis Granderson earlier this week. There is some speculation that they will shop Melky Cabrera before Spring Training.
  • The Red Sox have acquired Boof Bonser from the Twins for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
  • The Royals released Mike Jacobs. The Mets may be interested in his services.
