FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Mariners are showing strong interest in pitcher Rich Harden. Harden, who was not offered arbitration from the Cubs, carries no draft-pick compensation anymore.
Harden is also drawing serious interest from the Red Sox, but probably won't land more than a one year deal with an option for a second, depending on whether or not he can stay healthy.
Last season, Harden was 9-9 with a 4.09 ERA and 171 strike outs to 67 walks. If he can stay healthy, he could be a very valuable pitcher.
