Athletics interested in Adrian Beltre

Comcast SportsNet in the Bay Area is reporting that the Athletics have interest in free agent third baseman Adrian Beltre. Beltre is currently slowing the third base market while he makes a decision, which still isn't expected for the next couple of weeks.

Beltre, who has hit 250 career home runs, regressed in 2009 to only hit 8 home runs. However, he is still strong defensively having won gold gloves in '07 and '08.

Beltre is reportedly seeking a multi-year deal worth somewhere between 10-15 million dollars. However, the thirty-year old is more likely to receive a Placido Polanco-type deal before a deal a two year, 30 million dollar deal similar to what Andruw Jones receive from the Dodgers prior to the 2008 season.

Miguel Tejada, Rich Aurilia, and Joe Crede are still available if talks with Beltre fail to work themselves out.
