More Winter Meetings Headlines

Another busy day spent in the lobby of the Marriot hotel. Here are some more headlines to take in this Tuesday night:

 

  • The White Sox are reportedly closing in on a deal with reliever J.J. Putz, the Sun-Times is reporting. Putz is also drawing interest from the Cubs, Royals, and Tigers
  • The Cubs are discussing a deal with an unknown AL club for Milton Bradley. One source suggests Royals pitcher Gil Meche as a possible target.
  • The Giants are expected to meet with agent Scott Boras tomorrow about Adrian Beltre.
  • The Cardinals and Nationals are interested in pitcher John Smoltz, who does intend to pitch in 2010.
  • One source believes that if Pedro Martinez's price falls enough, the Astros would make a run at the pitcher.
  • The Braves are willing to listen to offers for reliever Rafael Soriano, but appear to be waiting for the right offer. The Angels are a possible option for the reliever.
  • The Rockies, Giants, Nationals, and Royals have interest in second baseman Orlando Hudson.
  • The Angels have stepped up their pursuits for free agent outfielder Jason Bay.
  • The Red Sox are interested in Matt Holliday, and plan to discuss options with his agent in the near future. 
  • The Rockies offered Yorvit Torrealba a two year deal worth 7-8 million dollars, a source with knowledge of the negotiations reports.
