According to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic, nearly half the teams in baseball are interested in D-Backs reliever Chad Qualls.
Piecoro says Qualls has generated plenty of interest, but since he's not a free agent until after next season it's unlikely he'll be moved. It's expected that the D-Backs are seeking a starting pitcher in return for Qualls.
The Phillies reportedly sent a scout to watch Qualls over the weekend.
Qualls has been very effective for the D-Backs this year. He's 1-1 with a 3.76 ERA and 17 saves in 21 opportunities this season.
