Halladay Talks Heat Up

Something tells me this Halladay deal is going to go down real soon. The chatter is picking up heavy tonight, so in order to make sure we're up to the minute, we're going to be updating all Halladay news throughout the night.

Here's what is happening right now.

  • 8:57 PMBob Elliot of the Toronto Sun, says only the Yankees and Phillies have scouts at Rogers Centre tonight to watch what might be Roy Halladay's final start.
  • Jordan Bastian tweets, that while speaking on Sirus XM radio, Commissioner Bud Selig said, "I was told by somebody with pretty good inside knowledge that they won't get rid of him (Halladay)."
  • Tom Hadricourt tweets, that he spoke with Brewers GM Doug Melvin and he said, "It's not true that the Brewers have withdrawn from the bidding for Halladay. That doesn't mean they'll get him."
  • Andy Martino of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports, the offer for Halladay is J.A. Happ, Kyle Drabek and Dominic Brown.
  • John Heyman tweets, "Phils are faves.  Not sure it's close.  They're talking names.  Happ or Drabek?  Taylor or Brown?"
