According to WGN’s Dave Kaplan, the Tigers are interested in Cubs’ OF Milton Bradley as a potential DH in their lineup. As baffling as this news sounds considering Bradley’s struggles to stay healthy and his large contract over the next three years, it seems like the Cubs and Bradley are nearing a point where both may need a fresh start. With Bradley having worked his way through two hitting coaches and now working with Lou Piniella individually, one has to wonder what will happen if no one in the Cubs organization can mend Bradley’s woes at the plate. For the Tigers, adding Bradley may be worth the risk if the Cubs will eat enough of his contract. He obviously has the potential to be a middle of the order bat, and if they can get him anywhere near the level he was at last season with Texas, it would definitely be worth it.
