Twins sign Dominican prospect Miguel Angel Sano

After months of questions and concerns over his age, the top Dominican prospect Miguel Angel Sano was finally able to reach a deal with the Minnesota Twins. Sano, 16, signed for approximately 3.15 million dollars, which is not the record for an international player, but it is more than the Twins have spent on over 70 international prospects from the past three years.

Scouts expect Sano to come into his 6-3 frame as he gets older, potentially adding another 10 to 15 pounds of muscle. He has already shown tremendous power, which should improve with more consistent coaching. I imagine Sano will play in Rookie Ball, with the possibility of receiving a call up to Low-A if things go well.
