The Orioles and Miguel Tejada have reportedly agreed to a one year deal, according to the Baltimore Sun. Tejada is coming off a solid year in Houston, hitting .313 with 14 home runs in 158 games.
Tejada is more than just a solid offensive force. Tejada is a natural clubhouse leader and always gets the best out of his teammates. A return to Baltimore, where he hit .310 in four seasons with an average of 25 home runs.
Tejada, who will be 36 in May, is a fairly safe bet on a one year deal, and should hold on to his fantasy value. Tejada is a career .321 hitter at the Camden Yards in 340 games.
The Orioles are still looking to add a corner infielder, but with the addition of Tejada, it is possible they will hold off until Spring Training to see how their younger players perform.
Carlos Delgado and Russell Branyan are both still available if they decide to add a first baseman.
