According to ESPN Boston and WEEI, the Red Sox have reportedly interviewed former Athletics pitching coach Curt Young.
Young, 50, turned down a 1-year offer by the club to return as the pitching coach next season. Young spent 27 years with the A's as a player and a coach.
In his time in Oakland, Young worked with and developed the likes of Barry Zito, Mark Mulder, Dan Haren, and Tim Hudson and developed young All-Stars such as Trevor Cahill and Andrew Bailey.
The team has also looked into their minor league system and interviews are "ongoing" according to sources close to the team.
