According to the New York Times, the New York Mets have decided on a new General Manager as they decided to go with experience over youth and name Padres' CEO Sandy Alderson their new GM to help turn the franchise around.
Alderson, is currently working with Major League Baseball in their efforts to clean up player procurement in the Dominican Republic. Alderson served the GM of the Oakland Athletics before handing the reins to pupil Billy Beane. While GM, Alderson has a record of 600-533.
Alderson will be introduced as GM of the Mets on Friday at a press conference at Citi Field.
