Mariners interested in Daisuke Matsuzaka?

According to AOL Fanhouse, the Mariners reportedly have some interest in acquiring Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka. Matsuzaka has fallen off dramatically after posting a 33-15 record with a 3.65 ERA in his first two seasons in the MLB. Since then, he has gone 13-12 with a 5.22 ERA.

Matsuzaka has two years and 20 million dollars left on his contract, so if the Red Sox were willing to eat a good portion of his contract, they may have a match.

Considering that Matsuzaka, 30, owns the career line of a typical number 3 or 4 starter, the Red Sox may have trouble landing a legitimate prospect. That may be contingent on their willingness to include money in the deal.
