The Dodgers have signed starting pitcher Jon Garland to a one-year deal worth 5 million dollars and a mutual option for the 2012 season. Garland has played for three team in the NL West in the past two seasons, including the Dodgers. He started the 2009 season with the Diamondbacks before being traded, and played the 2010 season wit the Padres.
Garland was 14-12 with a 3.47 ERA and 136 strike outs and a 1.32 WHIP. He has averaged 32 starts since 2002 and has posted double-digit wins in every season since 2002.
Garland will be at the top of the rotation and be expected to put up the same durable numbers as he has in the past.
