The Texas Rangers acted quickly to make sure they keep manager Ron Washington around after the team made it to the World Series. The two agreed to a new two-year extension that will keep the manager of the year candidatearound at least until 2012. Financial terms are yet to be released.
In his four years in Texas, Washington has a 331-317 record with the club which includes an American League championship this season. Since he has taken over, the club has improved it's record every season. Washington ranks third in Rangers history with wins.
