Athletics sign Rich Harden to one year deal

First off, greetings from Mexico! I hope everyone enjoys the holidays from wherever they are celebrating. I will continue posting, and lucky for you, most of my posting will happen in the morning and late afternoon so stay tuned for big names making moves during the holiday break. While the MLB offices are closed, teams never stop working.

All right, back to the reason we're here...

The Athletics brought back the golden boy from the middle 00's in signing Rich Harden to a one year deal worth 1.5 million dollars. Harden had abysmal year with the Rangers posting a 5.58 ERA in 20 appearances. He went 9-9 with the Cubs last season and posted a 4.09 ERA.

Harden has always been associated with an ace quality pitcher, it is just a matter of him staying healthy. His best year with the Athletics came in 2005 when he posted a 10-5 record and a 2.53 ERA in 23 appearances.

Now, the veteran right-hander will help anchor the bottom of that young rotation.
