Athletics acquire Willy Taveras

The Reds have agreed to trade Willy Taveras and infielder Adam Rosales to the Athletics for infielder Aaron Miles. Miles was traded by the Cubs earlier this offseason and ends up back in the NL Central as a back up infielder, very similar to his role with the Cubs.

Billy Beane improves the teams defense with the addition of Taveras, who will make around 4 million dollars in 2010. Despite the hole in center now, the Reds will not pursue Johnny Damon, according to AOL Fanhouse Ed Price.
