ESPN.com is reporting that the Mariners have signed Ryan Garko to a one year deal worth 550,000 dollars. If Garko can become an everyday first baseman and log 600 plate appearances, he could double his contract over the season.
However, his career high in plate appearances is 563 in 2008.
Garko hit .268 with a .344 on-base percentage in 118 games with the Indians and Giants.
What does this mean for Russell Branyan?
