- Dodgers catcher Russell Martin's injured groin is going to put him on the shelf for four-to-six weeks, putting his Opening Day start in question. For now, A.J. Ellis and Brad Ausmus will platoon in the position. Martin hit a disappointing .250 with 7 home runs, but is a career .276 hitter. This should certainly effect his fantasy value.
- Alex Gordon will be out for three-to-four weeks with a broken thumb. Well, at least the Royals acquired Josh Fields. Gordon needs to have a big season or else the Royals could start searching for other options at third.
- Cubs infielder Andres Blanco will be out for at least two weeks with a sprained knee. Blanco is fighting for the spot on the Cubs bench and needs to show he can be the versatile infielder he was last year or else he could be back in Triple-A.
