Ubaldo Jimenez throws first no-hitter in Rockies history

Rockies pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez blanked the Braves today, hurling the teams first no-hitter in the franchises history. It is also the first no-hitter of the 2010 season. Jimenez improved to 3-0 on the season with a 1.25 ERA this season with 20 strike outs.

Jimenez posted 15 wins last season and a 3.47 ERA with 198 strike outs. The 26-year old may finally be hitting his breakout year. He posted 12 wins in his first full season in 2008, including several key playoff performances that carried the team to the World Series.

Jimenez is locked up through the 2014 season, making a possible 23.75 million dollars in all. With Jeff Francis out, he is making for a valuable front of the line starting pitcher.
