Top Orioles pitching prospect Chris Tillman pitched the first no-hitter of the 2010 season for Triple-A Norfolk, stymieing the Gwinnett Braves bat on their way to a 6-0 win. Tillman improves to 2-3 with a 4.05 ERA and 21 strike outs in five games so far this season.
Tillman was dominant the whole game versus the Braves, needing only 105 pitches to complete the gem and retiring the final 13 batters he faced.
Tillman struck out six, walked one, and saw one runner reach on an error, though a double play in the fifth inning meant that he only faced one hitter over the minimum.
After losing his first three starts, Tillman has only surrendered three runs in the past 17 innings (two starts), striking out 11 and walking just one. This past start could prompt the Orioles to put him on the fast track to Baltimore.
