The Red Sox have signed pitcher Scott Schoeneweis to a minor league deal, but almost instantly adding to him to the major league roster. Schoeneweis was released by the Brewers are March 25th, but was picked up quickly after the Sox were forced to put Daisuke Matsuzaka on the 15-day DL and Junichi Tazawa on the 60-day DL, likely ending his season.
Schoeneweis struggled in 45 games last season, but was solid in 2008 with a 3.34 ERA in 74 appearances. A solid, low cost move for the BoSox.
