Phillies looking at Nelson Figueroa?

ESPN.com is reporting that the Phillies are looking into bringing in pitcher Nelson Figueroa, who was designated for assignment by the Mets last week.

Figueroa posted a 4.09 ERA last season in 70.1 innings for the Mets, his best ERA since 2003. Figueroa took a hiatus from baseball following torn rotator cuff surgery, pitching for the Nationals, and several independent teams in Mexico, Taiwan, and China.

ESPN suggests that Figueroa was going to continue his career in Japan following his release, but if the Phillies need him, it is possible he will decide to stay and join the Phils' bullpen.
