Top Nationals pitching prospect Stephen Strasburg has burned his way through Double-A and will be joining the Triple-A Syracuse squad early next week. Strasburg owns a 0.52 ERA in four Double-A starts, going 3-0 and striking out 23 to just 3 walks.
"As he progresses, he is going to go to Syracuse and is going to pitch there until we deem he is ready to go to the next level," Rizzo said. "It's reasonable to assume he is going to be in Syracuse sometime soon.
The Nationals are hoping his success can continue at the Triple-A level, and soon with the big league club. One NL official believes Strasburg will make 3-4 starts in Triple-A, and if all goes well, he should join the Nationals.
"He is doing everything we thought he would do and more. He seems to get better and better and stronger and stronger each start."
