SI.com's Jon Heyman is reporting that the Nationals have plans to have pitcher Stephen Strasburg make his major league debut on June 8th. MLBDD first predicted the June 8th start date versus the Pirates, in large part because of the day off on June 7th to allow him to arrive in Washington with time to spare before his start.
Washington is 20-18, just 3.5 games back on the leading Phillies. If Storen can come up and strengthen the bullpen, along with Stephen Strasburg joining the rotation on June 8th at home versus the Pirates (comment when you think he'll be up if you don't believe me), the Nationals could give the NL East, or at least the Wild Card, some serious competition.
From the article "Nationals promoting first-round pick Drew Storen"
Strasburg is 6-1 with a 0.99 ERA between Double-A and Triple-A, with fans and soon-to-be teammates anxiously awaiting his arrival in Washington. Team sources have reminded me that several dates for projected starts have been picked for June, but June 8th seems to be the most likely date.
