Multiple NL sources have informed me that Diamondbacks third base coach Bo Porter is the overwhelming favorite for the Marlins managerial position. Rarely do we see coaches jump teams midseason, but it is not all that odd if you think that players do it all season long.
Porter spent five seasons with the Marlins organization before joining the Diamondbacks, so a move back to his original team should be fairly smooth.
Bobby Valentine will stay in the press booth, for now.
