The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that the Cubs may target Yankees manager Joe Girardi to be their next manager. Girardi, a former Cub, will also be out of a job after this season and the Yankees have made no indication as to whether or not he will return.
If you don't remember, the Cubs nearly hired Girardi before settling on Lou Piniella, who will almost certainly be gone after this season.
With one World Series ring already, I doubt the
Yankees let him go anywhere; however, if he leaves, you can bet that the Cubs will be all over him.
