Diamondbacks fire GM, manager

The Diamondbacks announced today that both general manager Josh Byrnes and manager A.J. Hinch were fired with the team already 15 1/2 games back in the division. Byrnes went all-in when he "reassigned" his former director of Player Development to be the teams manager, and the experiment has obviously failed.

Hinch, having never managed, still has a future in a front office. In fact, I would not be surprised if he was picked up in a front office role at some point this season.

Byrnes could remain with the team, considering he is locked in with the team for the next five years. Jerry DiPoto will take over as GM in the meantime.
