Prospect Watch: Bryce Harper, Michael Choice, Chris Sale

  • Nationals outfield prospect Bryce Harper displayed incredible power in his first batting practice with the club before being unveiled to the media. Harper, 17, sporting a mohawk, hit "some moonshot" home runs, some reaching the third deck. Harper may see some time in Low-A or Rookie ball, and he may be given a shot to show off his power in the Arizona Fall League.
  • A's first round pick is off to a great start in Single-A, sporting a .303 batting average with 5 home runs and a .405 on-base percentage. Choice's future is probably in a corner outfielder spot, but he is running well and doing just about everything right. The Athletics made a nice selection.
  • White Sox first-round selection Chris Sale has appeared in seven games for the White Sox this season, the first of any 2010 first-rounder to make it to the big leagues. Sale, 21, owns a 1.23 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP.
